lockscreen replacement glitches

I'm wondering if it's possible to create a perfect replication of a lockscreen on an unrooted phone. I tried using go locker for go launcher ex. it works almost flawlessly except that you can see the status bar for a split second when you tap on it. I'm wondering if that's a limitation of the OS or if the programmer just doesn't know how to have the status bar ignore touches when the phone is locked.

Hello jcarsw.

Are you referring to the Captivate as the device you're wanting the lockscreen changes on?

If so, I'm thinking that you're right; the limitations of that OS might be what you've run into with that rather insignificant (if you don't mind my saying) issue. ;)

Yes, I am using this on a Samsung Captivate. I didn't think the error was specific to my model phone. Are there other phones where this does not occur? I would agree that it is rather insignificant but I was curious about this as a way to mimic a true lockscreen more accurately. It seems like Google should make it easier for apps to customize the lockscreen. It looks like widget locker just covers up the status bar but I rather it show but not respond to touches.

The thing is, lockscreen replacements aren't really "lockscreens" in the sense that it locks the phone down at system level. They just bypass the lockscreen display to show something else. I don't think you'll ever get that perfect lockscreen replacement unrooted.
