Help logitech controller on samsung gal tab problems

My Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will not recognize my new logitech usb controller. The cheap usb controller works mostly fine(problem with one button). So why am I having trouble connecting a branded one. Can anyone help? I don't want to root my tab yet to use a ps3 wireless controller but I see no other option unless I try for another cheap chatty ebay generic. Thank you in advance
 
An update for anyone interested........The dodgy button on the usb generic controller started working by itself...hooray! Somebody told me that the logitech issue had something to do with Samsung not co-ordinating with their OS so most other tablets should work with it..........and after all that I got the wii remote working well. I am now so excited to play all my favourite games.

Usb bt/joystick
Nes
SuperGNES
Fpse
Still to configure which dosbox app and controller will work best........any suggestions?
