Help Lollipop Questions

Hello. I have just flashed lollipop onto my phone (thanks for those who helped), and I just have a few questions on its use:

1. How do I put the phone into silent mode and vibrate? In android 4.4.4 there was a phone icon at the top of the screen that showed if the phone would vibrate. I cannot seem to find this
2. When setting up an email account (hotmail) do I use IMAP or POP3?
3. I heard there was an SMS app (not Hangouts), but I can't find this.

There may be other questions to follow as I work my way through.

1. Use the volume keys to lower the volume to get to "Vibrate". To get to Silent, just press "Non" after pressing any of the volume keys
2. Hotmail - supports exchange mail - that's what I use. Else, you can use pop3/smtp too.
