Am having connectivity issues at home location...Not sure if this is true or not
but while talking to rep she said phone is scheduled for lollipop update around Oct 1........

Most of the proprietary features don't work in our current CM ROMs, like the remote, there's no guest mode like the stock software has. I know there's guest mode apps, but they don't work as smoothly as the integrated LG one. LTE is glitchy too. These 3 things have kept me from using any of the ROMs.

I don't doubt your conversation.... but I do doubt that reps info. Call me pessimistic, but I just don't see it happening. Hopefully though!

Sorry to bump this. But with all the latest android security flaws, I think its kind of necessary to get an update. But i guess we will see.....

October 1st is still a long ways out....... LG did make a firm commitment for security patches. Guess ill hold out a little more, as I was getting ready to jump ship.

I'm trying to remember if VM,Boost,Metro,Cricket EVER pushed a new version of Android. Not just like 4.1 to 4.2 but a whole new version number.

Virgin Mobile updated the HTC 816 from Kit Kat to Lollipop. Not sure if they've made the same leap for any other phones, but it has happened.

Yep, they've done it a few times but not too often. I did with the HTC desire from ICS to Kit Kat.

Just some info. LG posted an firmware update - Ls740zv6.
On the Sprint website for the Volt it says:

LS740ZV6 09/02/2015

• Patch for critical security vulnerability ('Stagefright')

So unfortunately it seems it is just a patch and not an OS update to Lollipop.

I can't recall my source (it was just a few months back, but here I can't remember what I had for breakfast) but do recall that it seemed reliable enough to take fairly seriously

it stated a volt lollipop update should be rolled out in the third quarter of the year

So Oct 1 should be a good guestimate
