Help Lollipop update

I received a notice last week, but it would download to 99% and just sit there. I rebooted and it gave me an error message that the firmware was corrupted. Same thing the next day, so I took the phone into Verizon. After doing I don't know what, it finally downloaded and updated everything . . . everything. It will take a little getting used to the new look, but it all seems to be working, except for the charging. I usually plug the phone in next to my bed at night and leave it on. By morning, it has been fully charged and I'm good to go. Not anymore. I plugged it in the first night and by morning, the light was off and I thought it was good. Nope! Only charged up to 13% after being so dead the night before that it shut itself off. I waited long enough to be able to turn it on so I could check it before plugging in and thought all was well. I plugged in the next morning and it only charged to about 30%. The next night it was fine, so I thought the problem had solved itself. The following night, however, it didn't charge all the way again, so I changed cables thinking that was the issue. Last night, I noticed it was charging fine until a text came in. Then it stopped charging. And no, it wasn't just notifying me with the green light, it STOPPED charging. Middle of the night, so I plugged it back in. The same thing happened early in the morning when an email came in. It stopped charging. I have no idea what causes this, but if anyone finds a solution, I'd like to know about it.
 
I got the notice and when it updated it stopped at 99% and when it tried to install it said that the file was corrupted so I let it go at that. The next morning when I went to use my phone I saw that the update had downloaded and said it was ready to install so I clicked on install without even thinking about it. After a while I noticed that the phone was now stuck in a boot loop. It wouldn't do anything..just kept rebooting. The only way I could get it to power off was go into recovery. I wiped the data through recovery and tried to boot up but nothing happened except for it being stuck in a boot loop again. After going into work I found out that someone else who has the same phone had the same problem while another person was able to update their phone without issue. I ended up taking it to a Verizon store to see what could be done. I found out today that they are going to send me a new replacement phone. I wonder if it will be updated already...I shall see..and if not do I chance trying to update it.

My son is complaining about his phone discharging really fast. Claims it is at 100% when he gets up for school and within the hour it's down to 35%. I'm at work at that time so I can't confirm it was at 100% at all. But every morning since the update, he is complaining about the charging issue.
 
Similar issue, installed OK, but Power Hungry big time, from days to hours, install from Verizon was solid
 
They must have pulled the update. I am not able to see anything and according to the VZ update tool on my PC, it says version 1.723VZ is the latest update and nothing else is available. I could have dodged a bullet. Though I have been wanting the 5.1 for some time now.
 
2.906vz is the problem child. Problem working graveyards for so long, you wake up early on your days off and download updates early. Got a mid-priced QI induction charge-pad that works thru the additional protective case, which mades life bare-able. Glad they pulled it, means they have recognized the issue, now will they bother to cure it or leave well enough alone.
 
The problem with the update is with your e-mail client, if you go into the battery setting on your phone you will see that the email client is using all your battery, the only fix is to go into the applications setting and the email account and turn the sync off, you will notice that the little sync icon is constantly checking for up dates on your email account and draining your battery.

mine updated from kitkat to lolipop and now the wireless charger will not work. I replaced charger then bought new phone. it upgraded also and did same thing. can anyone help me downgrade to kitkat and stay there or get to charge with lolipop
