Long time Sidekick User - relies on alert flashing light on scroll/trackball

I am a Sidekick user and always have the device on vibrate mode on at all times due to my deafness. I am looking for an android smart phones that would have similar features like the Sidekick.

What I am looking for is a flashing message on the scroll ball when incoming new messages has arrived. For instance, blinking green light says no messages while blue light indicates new message(s) arrived, same for other applications. Are there any available out there? Your input would be greatly appreciated
 
If you had a sidekick i guess you are on tmobile? I am on verizon, just got the HTC Eris, and it vibrates good and the trackball does light up with a have a notification. Not sure if tmob has a device like this but im sure they do....

you can go to tmobiles site, click shop, click phones, on the left check the android box, and you can see all the phones there.

looks like g1, mytouch 3g, and the cliq
