anyone know where i can get a data cable compatible with the droid that is 8-10 feet long?

Just buy a USB extender cable.. Many different lengths and not much $$ at places like New Egg..

I have a 6 footer that works perfectly with mine.

I ordered a vouple from here. I prefer these to Monoprice's because they don't have that little "cylinder" on the micro usb side. Just barely more expensive though.

I believe it is just a USB to Micro USB, so you can just buy a longer one of those.

This one is 3 feet and only 2 dollars

USB Cable in the "Product Name" Field the last thing listed is usually the length.
