Help Look at "Recent Calls" while in a call. How?

I'm sure there is a simple solution to this but I can't seem to find it. If I am on a call and want to look at "Recent Calls" how do I do this? If I hit the home key and then the phone icon it just takes me back to my call.

Can this be done?

I'm running ICS on Razr Maxx FWIW.

While on a call, I go to the home screen, then to the dialer, then hit "recent" at the top.

Hey Chris! Maybe I'm doing something wrong but that doesn't work for me.

Here is what I am doing:

1. Make call, talking away to whomever.
2. Hit home button.
3. Hit green phone button in tray and it brings me right back to my phone call. No option to hit Recent etc.

I don't seem to have a Dialer icon.
Am I missing this?

If so, how do I get it back

I replaced my phone icon with the dialer icon. That may be the reason.

while on a call, you can go into the people icon and then click the phone in the bottom-middle of the screen. Then swipe to the recent calls tab.
