Looking for 4.1 JellyBean

Lurker
So I finally decided to do the root, and followed the procedure advised by this forum.

After doing the 'update.zip' root and wiping the data I installed a ROM, this one: https://sites.google.com/site/dgbbravo/home

After everything installing succesfully and rebooting, I get the 'Welcome to HTC Desire' screen but on top of that is a pop up saying "Process %1$s is not responding'. Report. And then the button says: "The process %1$s has has violated its self-enforced strictMode policy."

And everytime I press it, it just pops right back up again. There's nothing else I can do, it just keeps popping up. So I went back to hboot and tried it again, but nothing, just did a full wipe, still nothing, deleted all the storage, still nothing.

So I'm getting kind of desperate. Anyone who can give me some advice?

I have the same problem. But i don't have the update.zip or anything backed up. What should i do? I can't use my phone over and over the same error. Can I somewhere download Jelly Bean 4.1 for my Vodafone Smart II to resolve this issue. PLEASE HELP ME

Hi martin4e, and welcome to AF :)

The tricky thing here is that rooting techniques are specific to the phone. So the people in this forum (HTC Desire) will know nothing about the Smart II, and the tools and files we use will be different. So I can't really give any very detailed advice.

The Smart II seems to be a rebadged Alcatel V860, but we don't have a specific forum for either. So the best place to ask is possible the Other Phones section of AF. Please post there, or reply to this (I'll ask someone to move these 2 posts), giving more detail, i.e. exactly what you have done, what files you have used and what the state of the phone is. Don't assume that anyone knows what you've used, because it's probably different from anyone else's phone. That will give us the best chance of someone being able to help.

the problem is that if a handset isn't popular with developers (and it tends to be the high end brand name handsets which get the most support) there may be very few ROMs, little root support, and few people who know what to do with it. I'd not worry about trying to find a JB 4.1 ROM for this device - I'll be surprised if one exists. If I'm reading your post correctly, getting it working again is the objective.

I've been able to find one post which looks like it might have something useful about rooting your handset: http://androidforums.com/other-phon...ated-rom-root-backup-restore.html#post4812292. But as you can see from the second post there, there is no guarantee that will work for you.

Sorry I can't do more, but the Smart II is outside my experience. Just give us as much information as you can and hopefully somebody will have some ideas.

Thanks guys, I'm downloading original Rom for Vodafone smart 2. (from this video "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2_W0mrCQBg" ) I'll install it and see if the problem will be resolved. There are few Rom's for my phone. I hope this will help me.
