Can anyone recommend a high-quality weather and clock widget that can run in a 3x1 or smaller space? It seems most of the good ones are lumbering at 4x2.

I've tried Simi Clock. It's nice and small. I was wondering if there's an app that's a little bit more colorful and slick. Similar some of the larger weather/clock widgets with the high-impact graphics, but just smaller.

try minimalistic text, free from the market. you can set vert or horizontal, clock, weather, date/moth/year, etc. great app with tons of customization to it.

I find it easier to see the numbers in a digital clock rather than to read the text.

Great apps. Any small weather widgets that show an animated sun or something slick like that? Looking for 2x1 or 1x1 would be even better and won't hog my battery.
Try Weather Widget Free by Android Apps. I have the paid version of the app, Weather & Toggle Widget, and I love it. I don't remember if you can apply a clock to the free version, but I do know the free version has a small weather widget. And the best part is that there are a TON of custom skins for both the clock and weather available on the market for free, but you must have the paid version to use skins. The paid version is only $1.99, well worth it for this beautiful widget.
I'm currently using the 4x2 Clock and Weather Widget with the Forecast addon. The skins I'm using are Cypha Flip Clock and Glossy Black Weather. If you'd like to see a screen shot, just let me know and I'll figure out how to post one for you so you can see what it looks like
