Why does a flashlight need access to my USB storage combined with full network permissions?APUS flashlight is a very simple app with little memory.
TeslaLED is my regular
Tesla for me... Does what I want. Is reliable and doesn't have any strange permissions (like needing access to my contacts or gps location!)
You might want to try this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.devmain.flashlight
It has additional flashing light and SOS mode option.
It's his app:Did you look at the permissions for that one? Way more than required for a flashlight.
Hi,
Yep, you got that right so here is what the permissions are used for:
- camera related is actaully the one really required for flashlight
- all network related permissions are for third-party banner/interstitial ads integration (e.g. Admob, Appbrain)
- audio related are for playing Morse code SOS sound signals
- prevent form sleeping is used when the flashlight is on to prevent it going off if for example device will dim the screen after 2 min
Anyway if you just need a flashlight with no extra features and no ads you should just look for one with "Camera" related permission.
Thanks
