Looking for a Notepad App That Syncs with Desktop

You can try GDocs if you'd like a simple notepad and then store to Google.

A good alternative for richer content is Evernote, quoting a similar discussion -

I think what comes closest to that is Evernote

You can aggregate all manner of things, more info here -

Getting Started With Evernote. | Evernote Corporation (look through the 7 points)

Evernote Trunk | Evernote Corporation (check the tabs at top)

Cloud, web, PC, Mac and Android, a nearly complete document fusion system.

Can't say about the tree view for following document hierarchies, but I think this is the closest you'll find.

Spring pad looks very interesting. Ideally, I would like an app that syncs between my Android phone (HTC Desire), my laptop and my iPad2. Springpad is available in both the Market and the App Store but I can't work out if it will sync automatically or not. Can anyone help please?

I'm pretty sure that saved data is synchronized between your Android and/or iPhone and your PC with Springpad and probably with Evernote as well. Notes that I create and save on my Android phone can be viewed immediately on my PC's web browser. It all depends which UI you prefer and what your usage is for. Here's a good article regarding both apps:

Also, it seems that Springpad will be addressing collaboration and sharing in "a big way" in the next few weeks ...

Thanks very much for the info on both if these. I did actually download Evernote a couple of days ago and it does look fantastic. But, even though I use Apps2SD it took up 6mb on my Desire which took it down to low memory usage warnings. Springpad looks a lot smaller hence my interest. I'll give it a try on both Android and iOS and see how it goes. Off to look at the review you linked to. Thanks again.

Have now installed Springpad on both my iPad and Desire and copied in a ll the notes I was previously holding on Note Everything. I love the GUI and being able to put the notes into folders. Everything synched beautifully. Haven't had a chance to try it on my PC for the time being as it's being fixed. Impressed so far and still finding out everything it can do.
