iwant to buy a tablet but theres not enough info out there on all of them other than the samsun galaxy... anyone know anything about the Archos 101? or know of a good tablet to buy? iwant it under 500 so it gives me a wide range of options..

Did ya look at the topics in the forum? You'd see a discussion about the Archos, and another about the ViewSonic GTab for $379 at Sears... among others....

actually have not seen it and actually cannot find it .. spent about 4 minutes lookings for it and dindt have any luck locating the thread

Reputed, easy to use, minimal hassle tablets currenly available are the Samsung Galaxy, Archos 70/101 and the iPad. Everything else may need tinkering from a techie.

Apple iPad = Do i still need to describe this?

Galaxy Tab 3G = 7" form factor, the largest that can fit in a pocket. Seriously, it's almost december, how many out there are wearing jackets with oversized pockets by now? Pick this is you want an internet phone tablet that works anywhere.

Archos 70/101 = 7"/10" form factor, pick this if you don't want to spend extra on another data plan. It does support bluetooth tethering so you can connect it even to non-smartphones. Archos tablets also has a reputation of being able to play more video codecs than other slates. Pick this if you're looking for a multimedia tablet that's staying close to home.

First start with what you absolutely have to have in a tablet. Some folks go by the processor, while others start with size as their number one priority. then work your way down from there until you can find some tablets that fit your criteria.

For example, my number one is size. No bigger than a 7 inch tablet for me. Number two was processor.
Number three was the ability to play flash videos.

KWIM?

So I looked at the Dell Streak, the eLocity A7, the Archos 70, and the Galaxy Tab. Hope this helped a bit. :)
