Looking for castle building game that is NOT pay to win

Hello all. I'm just looking for a castle building RTS that is NOT pay to win. I am coming from DoA (Kabam) and Empire four kingdoms (GGS). These games are great, but unfortunately those who pay for gems/rubies have a HUGE (almost unfair) advantage over those who don't. I am just wondering if anyone knows of any games like it that are NOT pay to win?
 
i have just started playing this game: Castle Clash

it is actually very cool and i have not had to put any money down or anything like that. it does have in game money like gems and such that you can purchase, but so far it is not really needed.

its a cool game so far, but i have only started playing this for a few days.
 
Yeah, that one is too arcade-like to me. I like the ones where you build your buildings and march your troops into battle instead of placing all of your troops and watch them destroy the buildings like in castle clash.
 
I would suggest lords and knights, very in depth strategy game. F2p, you can buy gold to speed up building times, but Is only really useful when starting a new castle, as your castles and army gets bigger, it becomes very very expensive, so only people with loads of cash to blow will recover quicker, which is very few I might add. Very balanced, I would recommend it.

P.S. they also have a browser version of the game too, which is nice when your home on the computer.
