Looking for encrypted text app

I have a lot of sensitive data that can be exported to text or xml.

Any recommendations for an app that can import the text/xml data, save it to an encrypted file, then re-open it later for reading as a text file? XML reader type functionality is not needed.

You might be interested in APG, a free encryption app. APG can import files and messages then encrypt them using 7 good algorithms - including blowfish and AES.

From the android market description:
Public key encryption for the Android. Encrypt/decrypt emails/files via OpenPGP.OpenPGP for Android. It's open source and its goal is to provide a similar OpenPGP implementation as GnuPG.
NOTE: Internet permissions are ONLY used for key server queries. I didn't like the idea of APG requesting those permissions either, but it is open source and the code shows that it doesn't use those permissions for anything else.
* manage secret/public keys (eg. GPG/PGP)
* encrypt/sign/decrypt/verify emails and files
* some integration into GMail accounts on the phone
* integration with K9
* HKP Keyserver support
* basic key creation and editing possible (beta)
* Intent API for other apps

Note: Internet permission is now needed because of the key server support.

I'd really like something that can read in a text file and save it as encrypted AES/etc.

Then, later, it can open the encrypted file for reading in a text editor. Kind of like what fSekrit does on Windows.
Ok, I see what you're saying now. You want a text editor with encryption capabilities. The closest thing I can find is Encrypted Notepad. This one sounds interesting, I should find this type of app for myself too.

Hi. I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but the paid version of Note Everything can read various text formats and encrypt them. It happens to be my favorite memo app, too -- very versatile -- but this encryption feature might be what you're looking for. It does have a search function, if that's a critical criterion.
