Just got a Droid 2 and want to root. Was seeing what you guys think is the easiest way for somebody new to rooting. Also it would be nice to be able to unroot if something goes wrong

Correct!!! Z4ROOT is the easiest. I used it and it worked great.
The first time you try it (choose Permanent Root), it may seem to be doing nothing. Pull the battery and then put it back in and try again (again choose Permanent Root) and it should take 5 minutes. That is what happened to me and what I did.
