Looking for non-cloud solutions

I don't like the cloud-or maybe I should say I don't trust it. I like to know that I'm the only one who can mess up my data so I use local calendars & contact lists. Since I'm pretty new to Android (I've used a Palm Treo for the last six years) all I've used so far is what came with my phone (Galaxy Note II from Verizon-AFAIK these are Android's standard apps but you can correct me if somebody knows otherwise). I sync them with my PC (using BirdieSync) for backup.

What I'm looking for now is an app that'll add 'anniversary' events from contacts to the calendar. (If I need to change contact/calendar apps I might do that if the new ones fit my other criteria, i.e. don't store my data in the cloud.) Mostly these are birthdays & anniversaries but if there was the ability to sync any data field that would be killer. (An example might be a custom date field showing when a company is supposed to issue its annual report. I worked on a PC app that had that capability so I know it can be done but doubt I'll find it on Android. Not lack of capability just lack of probable desire for it.)

Anyway, if anybody knows of an app that'll do this I'd appreciate you posting a link. Thanks.

Ah, never mind about the syncing of contacts & calendar. Discovered that contacts has not only birthday but also anniversary, other, & custom-and they all sync with the calendar. That should do all I want on the phone & BirdieSync does all I want (in this area) for syncing with my PC. Appreciate the tip about Kies-saw it in apps but had no idea what it was. Thanks.
