Looking for security app...!

Hi Everone,

I own Xperia mini pro with android 2.3.4 version. I'm looking for security application to save my phone data and other details if its stolen/theft. I have searched the same in android market and no apps met my actual expectation.

Yes we can set the password or Pattern to unlock the mobile. But i feel horrible to enter the password or pattern for every 2 to 3 mins. (i'm okay with unlock slider n i can understand since it will restrict from unwanted touch)

I also come across another app which will send you the sms and email if any SIM change. I'm not satisfied with this also. Since by the time we receive SMS he/she would have accessed my gmail, twitter, facebook, bank everything. To lock the phone from remote, data has to be in enabled.

So i'm looking for application which asks the security password whenever you switch off/on your phone. Assume mobile would be switched off for sure. Please guild /help me if you guys know any such apps ?

Thanks. ;)

Hi nuttmeg,

Thanks for your reply. I already tried similar apps from market. I'm looking for a simple basic feature, Mobile should ask the security password whenever its switched on. which should not requires internet connection even SIM card. Simple. Do you kinda kinda apps?

Thanks.

Ummm. My phone (Desire HD) is set to do this as standard.

Settings > Security > Set up SIM card lock .......

(At least that's what the user guide says - haven't got my phone in front of me to double check).

Try that.

Edit: Ooops! Read it too first. Saw you didn't want to have the SIM inserted ...

The app you want doesn't seem to exist (yet). So you will have to make do with what's available (unless you develop it yourself). Lookout is a good app, as Nut suggested. I also recommend Plan B.
