Looking for speakers for the bathroom

Tazer79

Hey guys! Hopefully someone can help me since I'm not sure what to get after doing extensive research. But what I'm looking for is a speaker to use with my Galaxy S3, that I can have on my bathroom counter that is loud enough to be heard while in the shower. I'd prefer bluetooth (reallly trying to avoid any docks too), and with rechargable batteries as opposed to AC adapter, but those things aren't necassary. The most important attribute for me, is that it's loud enough to be heard. I'm really trying to keep it cheap (under $50), and it's really hard to gauge if the cheaper options would fit the bill sound wise. I just got in the mail a speaker I ordered that I thought would work, and it's not near enough, so I'm hoping that some of you have some good products to recommend that you use. I appreciate any and all input! Thanks!

I have some OK computer speakers that I hook up. Cost about $20. They sound OK when hooked up the the One X.

Though a bit pricey, I highly recommend the Bose Soundlink BT speaker. It has plenty of volume and a great sound too. You will find it's great for those outside gatherings as well.
It will certainly rock your shower.

$50 isn't much to work with, but a quick Google search came up with a few options under $100

I had a Kilpsch iFi that I wired in our bathroom. Wired it before they did drywall when we built the house. Seemed like a good idea at the time because we had iPods. Now I want to have the exact same setup or quite similar with BT interface for our Android phones since we've had Android for years and never an iPhone. The remote is RF so I keep the base under the sink and the remote is in a ziploc bag so we can control the track and volume while in the shower/tub. Pretty sweet setup but having the 30pin Apple interface blows. I bought an iPod bluetooth adapter for it that kind of works. Audio is just alright and we can't skip songs so it's not quite the full solution I'm looking for. So, I don't have a lot of help for your problem but would like to join the discussion with my experience.

My buddy has a Jawbone little BT boombox thing that he loves so maybe that? I just want something that's 2.1 with a sub that I can replace our existing 2.1 system with. The subwoofer in a bathroom is AWESOME!

not sure of price but wouldn't a couple of outdoor speakers be worth looking into? I've heard some that were plenty loud enough (Cops came uninvited) so I'm sure that would work for a shower! I don't remember what kind they were though so that blows as far as this conversation but I am certain you can get equivalents and since they are outdoor they hold up to the elements pretty good as far as the humidity and water. Keep us posted on what you end up with and how well it works for you.

The computer speakers are the way to go for cheap. I have a set for $9.99 that are ac and then plug cable from phone to speakers and boosts sound for anywhere. Marine is the way to go for water conditions but will pay! If spending a while in bathroom then spend for good stuff, me I'm in and out, no time for music. Now my boat, a different story, shuts down everyone else around us at the sand bar and they all love the variety of tunes we play!!!

Subwoofer in the bathroom! That's one way to shake things loose lol. Sure beats the old boom box I have sitting on the back of my toilet!
