Looking for specific Calendar/Todo solution

Hello, I am currently using a desktop-only solution where I can make calendar appointments and a reminder popup view opens and lists reminders until I individually OK them.

I would like to move to a desktop/android synched solution that can display a popup like that and synch the 'solved' status of reminders. Specifically, I do NOT look for a web site like Google calendar, but something that comes with an actual desktop (Windows) program, as I often close my browsers and generally don't like to pay attention to their popups.

Ideas ?

Thanks, but that doesn't have what I want (a synched list of reminders/tasks I haven't OKed yet), and also, it looks like someone wrote it in 1995 and didn't update it since ;)

Wunderlist has a desktop client, but it is only for your todos, not your calendar.


Or you can do something clever with Google Tasks

Finally, notwithstanding your justifiable criticism of pimlical, its floating appointments can also be used as a sort of todo list.

You can use the Producteev Desktop Client with Astrid, but sadly that desktop client still doesn't have popups. They have a plugin for Outlook to sync with the web client so Outlook could be your desk client, but I still haven't found out how to get it working smooth.
