Looking to add a tablet and data plan to account.

I currently have five phones on my Sprint plan, but I am looking at dropping one and adding a 3G enabled tablet. If I save $19 on the dropped phone, how much more can I expect to pay for the data plan on the tablet?

Depends on how much data you plan to use on the tablet.

Realistically, you probably will end up paying more than the $19 you're paying for the extra phone.

As an option, consider adding a wireless hotspot add-on to one of your lines. Use that to get your tablet connected. By going that route, you can choose from a larger selection of tablets (buy one anywhere), and avoid the two-year commitment on the device.

If you want to buy a tablet that can get on the Sprint network on its own, expect to pay a minimum of $30 per month for service, depending on the data allowance.

Thanks. By off-chance, do you know if the access-point thing is device-specific? Gotta know if I have to set it up on a specific phone.

Yeah, looks like it is. And of course, they are going to tack on the usual surcharges, etc...

Sometimes one wishes for a straight-up listing: this is what it'll cost you.

Thanks for the help.

If you haven't already check out the new one up plan for tablets

$19 to $40 per month for the tablet and $15 per month for 2gb of data. No 2 year contract meaning upgrade yearly

Not a fan of phone hotspots
1. You can't use the phone while using it
2. Not unlimited what's the point

Jason not sure where your info was from but some is just outdated as of the date of my response but some just wrong. Sprint tablet plans start at $5 per month
