Help Looking to buy android tablet

Hi Everyone

I am new to the forum.

I am looking to buy a tablet. I cannot afford the Ipad at the moment so looking at the cheaper range.
I am not so good with the modern technology and I am concerned about the security on these tablets. I would want to use it to email and possibly to buy on sites like Ebay and use Paypal. Could anyone be kind enough to tell me if these tablets are secure for the above. Also I have an anti-virus program on my laptop do these tablets come with anti-virus?

Any assistance/advice would be appreciated.

Security is not so much of a problem with Android, just be careful what you're installing really, and only install from trusted sources, i.e. Google and Amazon. However you do get what you pay for, and many of the off-brand cheapo things on Ebay that ship directly from China, are frankly garbage. On the other hand you can pay as much for an Android as you can for an iPad, e.g. some of the Samsung Tabs.

Have a look at some of the Google Nexus tablets I think, I think Asus and Lenovo are good tablets as well.
