Help Lookout app never takes a pic during device shutdown

funkylogik

share the love peeps ;)
Has anyone else had this issue with lookout?
Whenever I reboot my phone I get an email from lookout almost instantly showing me the location of my device but it never captures a pic from front camera as intended.
Instead it says in the email something like "we didn't capture a pic, to find out why, click here.." https://faq.lookout.com/topics/3247..._no_photo_link&utm_campaign=turned_off_device
Which doesn't really give me a decent explanation.
Can anyone shed any light on this and does this feature work for you on an otherwise excellent free app?
Cheers

Sometimes this means that we don't capture a photo or the location of your device in time before the email is sent.
I guess they're saying that once the user initiates a shutdown, the app has to a limited time to capture location and photo and send email before it loses that ability. the email is the most critical part, because without that the other two mean nothing. I don't know how it decides when it's running out if time, but apparently when it fits decide it is running out if time, it sends the email with whatever info is available at that time.

That doesn't give any clue how to fix it. Are there settings in the app to configure a time delay before email or to configure camera settings.

if not maybe adjust the stock camera settings for highest speed. example turn off flash.

if you had problems getting location, the suggestion would be to consider leaving your gps on all the time

Cerberus has a setting which uses different "modes" (it doesn't expand on the setting in any great depth) to take pictures/ videos as some are incompatible; is there any similar setting in Lookout?

Will it take a picture using the camera if you enter an incorrect PIN when unlocking?

Hey peeps.
Nah I don't see any settings for it taking a pic and idk El Presidente mate I don't use a lock screen :thumbsupdroid:
