Root Looks like we might have Root

Both links... Too many "ZTE ZMax Pro" s to be legit. Who in their right mind would state the name of the phone in every paragraph? Plus, the first link is all about ads, as they're collecting $$ for every image that loads on the page. Total BS, or virused rooting pkgs.

Every time I get a new device I see this same thing happening. There are tons of these fraudulent tutorials. In a couple months they will be telling you that you can update the zmax pro to nougat by installing a custom ROM when the phone still doesn't even have root or a custom recovery. A few telltale signs of these sites are that if they are telling you how to upgrade to a newer version of android they will tell you that the ROM has been split into two or more files that you need to merge back together, you always need to click on ads or answer surveys, and there are usually 2 or 3 quick reviews saying how great it works. In this case, the device pictured isn't even a zmax pro and appears to actually be a picture of the zmax 2. Unless you see the root tutorial on android forums, xda developers, or inside a Google plus community you should be extremely sceptical. Over 90 percent of tutorials (about rooting or updating low end or mid spec devices to newer android versions) that are not found on one of these three sites are a hoax meant to make money by getting you to take surveys or view ads.

PS: Any time a ROM has been split into 2 or more files that you need to merge together before flashing, you should automatically assume it is a hoax. This is something that is never done with real Roms.

With a real ROM you might need to flash 2 files, the first file being the actual ROM, and the second file being a Google apps package, but you never need to merge multiple files together into one before flashing.
