Im trying to root so I can recover deleted and corrupt files, ( particula.rly USB FILES)! So I'm trying to root Ascend 2 2.3.6 over air. I have tried z4root and SuperUser Universal and No Go! (Parsing package error on 7zip and root manager. Any suggestions? Besides restoring stock!

Poot.apk is the way to go. The logo kinda looks like a caution sign with a man passing gas. Don't be alarmed, it's the right program. It'll prompt you to install ministro from the play store, then let it work it's magic.

Now that you're rooted, wander over to the A2 roms section here or on unleashedprepaids.com and get ready to spend countless hours flashing and modding, making your A2 do things you never thought possible. And make sure to give Jon Haney a much deserved thank you while you're at it. That man is a beast.
