Help Losing APNs

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 and use Virgin Mobile in the UK. Virgin of course uses the EE network, although I'm not sure that this has anything to do with my problem, which is - when I use a different sim card from my normal Virgin one, my Virgin APN settings disappear and when I put the Virgin sim back in my phone I have no Internet connection.

I then have to phone Virgin who text me an auto-inserting APN file or add the APN details myself, which is tedious.

Is there any way of having multiple APNs and stopping my Virgin one from disappearing?

This problem occurs because I go to other European countries and sometimes use a different sim card.

Thanks.

The APN should really stick and be there after changing sim.
I can't help there but instead of ringing Virgin, just go into access point name settings, tap on the Virgin settings and write a note of them (or take a screenshot) then you can enter them yourself next time.
EDIT sorry I missed the part where you mentioned entering them manually.
All I can suggest is adding a duplicate of the APN and maybe that one will stick

Thanks, but the problem is there aren't any Virgin settings when I re-insert the Virgin Sim. They disappear but oddly enough the EE settings (my previous supplier) are there, but they don't work with a Virgin sim.

I was using a sim by Sainbury's, which uses the Vodafone network and that worked perfectly just by inserting it, but it also removed my Virgin APN.

I then have to create a new Virgin APN and enter the whole thing manually.
