The first day I got my phone, I accidentally lost the Alarm Clock Icon within the factory clock widget--I dragged it out of the bottom area thinking it would stick in the main area. For weeks I couldn't figure out how to restore it, until today:
SOLUTION
setting/applications/manage applications/running services/''all" Tab/clock
click "clear data"
And you get the alarm clock icon back
