Hello. My friend tried rooting my Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 and everything went wrong due to his ignorance. I was planning to view a guide on the internet and he was like hey i've got everything here on my laptop you don't need to. Without explaining futher, we only backed up media, contacts, miscellaneous without backing up the stock firmware. After that we plugged in the device and used Odin and checked PDA then chose a file that had something like "CWS" in its name and switched the mobile to download mode and then clicked start. After that the mobile turned off and the firmware was gone and all what's left was the PhilZ launcher that came up by the Volume Up+Power key+hoome button. He didn't have a firmware before doing that and didn't have enough knowledge about rooting so the device now doesn't operate and only has that PhilZ thingy. I want to know how to render my device useful again and what I've got to do to make it work. I tried using the external sd card to install a custom ROM but it keeps saying "E: Can't mount SD card.". Please help me ASAP and thank you.

Hey there, Honiffer :).

Wow, thank you for the wonderful details--that is indeed helpful insofar as to tell us that you probably need the rooting experts that frequent our Galaxy Note - All Things Root area.

Its probably best that the good folks over there try to help you out since they know your device best.

I would probably be best if you signed-up with us and started a thread in the above area.

Best of luck to you!
