I do not have anything set on my android LG2 as far as using settings. Can I track my phone. left it in the gym last night at 10 pm. the volume is set for low.

Assuming it has a gmail account, go to Android Device Manager - locate your phone You'll get a map with an indicator of where the phone is, or where it was when it was last turned off or ran out of battery. (You may have to move the overlay to see the indicator - the overlay may be sitting over the pin.)
This is automatic, you don't have to have done anything on the phone for it to work, as long as the phone had or has a wifi or data connection.
