What is this file and what happens if you delete it? Samsung Mesmerize 2.2.1 EE19 USCC.

Not certain what it is. But if you delete it, it will come right back. On my phone, there are never any files in it.

Anybody got a clue?

That is what I heard: The LOST.DIR is like the recycle bin from windows. Android is a linux derivate so if you delete a file via Windows PC, and forgot to unmount the device, where such files get deleted, the LOST.DIR keeps them for recovery.

Thanks! That explains why it remains empty.

So, it sounds like I need to mount my phone to my Mac and navigate to that file to delete the files. Then "eject" the phone and the files should be gone.
