As you can see from my screen shot, I have a folder named .LOST DIR on my SD Card that is 4.5GB in size!

Can anyone tell me what this does or of any way of reducing its size?

Answers please on a postcard.

Cheers! :D

I'm glad you asked that. I've been meaning to find out what it is. I noticed it a while back and had no idea. You've just reminded me to do a bit of digging. Its apparently safe to delete as it contains orphaned or corrupted files that are found when the phone does file system checks on the SD card when you boot up the phone.

Just checked mine and must of had about 50 files in there. Pressed delete and my phone still works.

:D I was just editing my post to say I deleted it as you posted. Yeah alls well.

Be it upon your head Shotgun84. Here goes! :D

UPDATE

Bloody hell Shotgun84!!!

You didn't mention that on reboot that I would have a black screen for awhile and the equivalent of a phones drunken stagger for a few seconds.

Have cancelled your impending appointment at A&E as all is well and the .LOST DIR has rebuilt itself without the 4.5GB of crud.

Thanks old boy! :D
