LOST Micro SD: Space/Time Portals DO Exist!!

So to top off a day of non-stop incredibly unbelievable bad luck, I took the 16gb Micro SD card out of my phone to use in my new Android tablet. I ejected the card, pulled it out, sort of with my fingernails since it was so tiny, and then it just 'snapped' and disappeared. Like when you play the old game 'Tiddly Winks', and it was propelled by my fingernails holding too tight. I did not hear it land anywhere. I am here at my desk, complete silence, just me by myself. I crawled around for literally half an hour. I checked every single inch of the floor, even as far as the other side of the room, I checked on my desk, under every single thing, behind my desk, behind my device charging station, pulled out that stand and looked under it, behind it... Well, I basically looked on, over, or under anything in this room. Nothing. I shook out my clothes and hair, I checked every crevice of the crappy little chair I use. I had JUST bought this card, and now it has literally vanished.
I posted this under that tile because I think the card has literally just vanished, maybe into another dimension.

Man that is tough luck. You are certain it's not still in the phone? Honestly, I am sympathetic. I lost a very small e ring from my rc car into my carpet. Not expensive but instrumental in putting my car together. I looked forever.. even sweeping the carpet with a magnet. It was gone into a different dimension for sure. My wife after many years of marriage lost the solitaire diamond from her engagement ring while folding clothes. It was only a half carat but it too slipped into a different time/space. Crazy sometimes.

I hope you find it. It will be in the least likely spot that you've already ruled out...
Murphy's law.

Awww that's messed up. If it's any comfort, I believe it'll resurface. I've lost count of how many I've had that vanished and reappeared once I stopped looking so hard.

that sucks my friend..

did it happen at home or work?

did you look up? say it ninja stared into the ceiling? (just covering all possibilities; hey it is more reasonable that going into another dimension)

cuffs on shirt or pants?

flipped into a folder on your desk?

if floor is a hard surface.. and has dark designs spots...
sometimes when I put my head on the floor and look across the surface.. you might see it.
try using a flashlight.. and turn off the room light.. put the flashlight the floor and spread the light across the floor... it might show you a shadow.

That's why I keep a nice, bright flashlight around.

I lose a lot of tiny stuff like that, and it sometimes takes months for them to reappear. Don't give up hope. Do shed as much light on the subject as you can muster, and be patient. Also, don't underestimate how far something like that can fly. :flybye:

dan330, it was at home, and I have the boring typical cream color carpet for apartments. I did actually get up crazy early and used a strong flashlight and re-looked everywhere, still nada. I ended up buying some cheap brand 8gb card at the store, but it says for some reason it won't transfer video! I will be seriously irked if that's the case... >__<

Everything that can go wrong will go wrong as said above is a perfect explanation for this.

Sorry though mate, this stuff just happens. With any look youll find it

Ain't that the truth!!! It's always amazed me how far tiny things can fly.

SD cards do support DRM, so if you're trying to copy copyrighted material, that may be why it's not working.

If you're referring to the new 8gb card I have not even opened it, but the back of the package says it only supports "general use" (whatever the heck that means!) and won't support movies.

Sorry for your bad luck there as it happens to us all and each time it sux. Take a breather from it and then start looking for something else. I generally find more stuff I "Lost" looking for other things than I do looking for the item itself.

I once lost a diamond earring but didn't know I lost it until one night sitting on my porch something sparkled at me. It wasn't a big flash before my eyes; just something that caught my attn. I get down and what do I pick up.....my diamond earring. Color me surprised.
