lost my files...wtf

I was just using my Windows 7 PC to do some cleanup of my directories on my Gnex. I was basically moving photos and videos from their source directories to appropriate subdirectories in my docs folder (i.e. docs/photos, docs/videos, docs/misc, etc), when all of the sudden one of the copy operations (from my /Edited folder into my docs/photos folder) got hung up. After a while it seemed to time out so I cancelled the operation. Now I cannot even see the docs folder on my PC or my Gnex using Astro. I rebooted the phone and still not there.

Please help I need to recover this folder (and its contents) desperately.

I just tried Wondershare's recovery tool but it says that it cannot detect the presence of a connected Android phone. I don't know why it says that. When I plug the phone into my USB port Windows 7 recognizes it.

you were moving items from one spot on your phone to another spot on your phone, or from your phone to a folder on your computer?

From one spot to another on my phone but I was using Windows 7 Explorer to move the files. Everything was working just fine until I tried to move the very last file from the /Edited folder to my docs/photos folder. I only had one photo in here and it was a photo that I had taken and edited with my Gnex standard editing app. The file size is 300KB and is still located in the /Edited folder. However my entire /docs folder (including subfolders) is GONE.

geez. That is a new one on me man. Sorry i can't help. Is there a reason you were moving them from one spot to another? Just personal preference?

I don't know if this is a related problem or not, but twice on my GNex and once on my Inc, the contents of my photo folder just disappeared. I lost everything I'd taken to that point. I could find no reason for it. I have since set G+ to upload every photo I take so I don't lose stuff.
