Help Lost Nexus 4 Help Badly Needed

Hi Everyone,

I am a newbie to this forum but need all of your help. I lost my Nexus 4 LG Android 5.0 last friday night. It is screen protected and I used google device manager. When I go to device manager in gmail it shows the phone but not the location.

My problem is compounded by the fact that my gmail is set up to two step verification which gets entry codes sent to the phone which I am looking for. So I am in the process of getting my gmail password changed. I have cancelled my phone serive with WIND Canada and also added a phone number to call on the device manager feature.

There are no 3rd party tracking apps on my phone. I check out lost android but didn't know how the hell it works!
Your help is appreciatted!
:)

Hi @albie333, and welcome to Android Forums - though I do wish it could be under better circumstances!

Just to confirm, you can access the Android Device Manager interface here: https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager

(I'm not sure that it's accessible from within Gmail.)

Unfortunately, though, since you've already turned off the phone service there's not likely going to be a way for the device to "phone home" so to speak - unless it just happens to be connected to a recognized Wifi network. None of the third-party tracking apps will be able to help you out after the fact - Lookout's Plan B used to be able to, but recent Android versions prevent applications from running automatically once installed. :(

So I hate to say it, but it sounds like your phone is probably gone for the long-term unless a good samaritan finds it and wants to return it.

I wish I had better news for you.
