Help Lost photo

I am abroad at the moment and took 150 photos. I decided to create a new photo album just in gallery and moved all 150 at once with no internet (as I am fairly certain I shouldn't need it for this). I changed save location to my 64gb SD card and After moving them all all I get now is black boxes in my new album in gallery. I stupidly asked it to move not copy so I am not sure how to get them back now? Any ideas?

If you navigate to the folder you moved them to using a file browser and try to open one of the files what happens? If we're lucky it's just the thumbnails that are messed up, so if the files are there and look the correct size we can try to work out how to fix them.

P.S. No, you didn't need an internet connection to do this.
