Lost Razr Maxx, used replacement isn't playing nice

I bought my original Maxx used on eBay and it worked perfectly from November until two weeks ago when it was stolen overseas. This includes no problems after doing the OTA to JB. Phone was dead stock by the way.

I get another used one from eBay and all goes well getting it setup, but I notice it is pretty hot while installing all my old apps. Then I notice I can't get wifi at home, rarely any 4G at home (old phone was always on 4G), it's generally just a bit more sluggish overall, the speaker has a faint buzz, it gets warm/hot pretty often, and the battery dies much quicker.

How is it possible for one phone to be able to almost always have 4G and WIFI while at home, and the next doesn't, when bother were on the exact same software versions, etc.?

Should I do another factory wipe or just chalk it up to getting a messed up phone?

I would recommend another start. Who knows what went South with the first setup but a factory reset should help. Running hot and battery drain sounds like an app not settling in as it should. Best of luck to you and I'm sorry you had your first unit ripped off.
