Hi, welcome to Android Forums.

Without knowing your device make, model and software details it's difficult to give you a definitive answer.

However it may help to know that on my HTC One a screenshot is achieved by holding down the power button and tapping the home button. Since the update to Android version 4.2.2 there is also a dedicated screenshot button in the new menu which is accessed by a two finger pull-down from the notification bar.

I believe some devices use the power button/volume down button combination. There are also a number of screenshot apps available in play store.

cannot see a icon etc in notification draw down

Hi, although the new menu is available on the HTC One, I don't know whether it applies to other devices. You will get a good response if you post in the dedicated area for your device (If you have a browse first, you may well find the answer) :-

Good luck. :)
