Help lots of problems with Samsung Galaxy s5 phone after AT&T update

Hello everyone.

About a couple weeks ago, I had an update from AT&T available to download on my Galaxy S5. However since I downloaded the update, I've had lots of problems with the phone. It lags very badly, battery drains so fast, when I push the home button, it doesn't always go to my home screen, it instead opens an Internet window, I've had applications stop responding, applications close on me without warning, and lots of little things. I did a factory reset, but it didn't do much. It also took off some apps I downloaded but I also left some on. Have any of you had problems of your s5 since the update from AT&T? what do I need to do to fix this phone? It has gotten to the point where it is sometimes unusable.

I ended up calling AT&T and they are going to send us new phones. They did offer to flash the software, but we wanted different phones. The only bad thing though is that they will have a 90 day warranty only instead of a one year warranty.

I don't know if it's true or not as well, but I guess flashing a phone can void the warranty.

That's the very fellow mate thanks :)

Nah flashing official firmware doesnt affect your warranty

is that true? They told me that I would have to pay over $500 for my phone if indeed I did intentional things to void the warranty

When you flash signed (official) firmware, theres no way anyone can tell you've done it.
In fact the process and program you'd use is exactly what they'd use in a repair center :thumbsupdroid:

I would think if the device was never rooted, thereby never messing with Knox, flashing the firmware from Sammobile would be akin to putting the device back to completely clean factory, out-of-the-box condition.

I could also move this thread over into the S5 forum so other folks can chime in....stand by.
And @Stephen Mol , just follow the original link and it will get you to this thread;)

Edit: and just like that, moved.
