I have a new hobby. It is Android. My 1st phone was a Captivate, and I recommend it to all my friends new to Android with a very tight budget. They have all bought one and love it. Fortunately for me my wife washed her feature phone in the toilet, just as the Galaxy S2 came out and I was eligible for a new contract. She got my Cappy and I got the Galaxy S2. Both of these phones are rooted and for now, adfree is installed. My wife wants no part of a custom rom as she is happy with her "new" Cappy. For me, I really enjoy touchwiz 4.0, but if ICS is not released within a reasonable time, I'll venture on to custom roms.
I really enjoy the way Apple had steered the new path for smartphones. I had a HTC Pure with WinMo. I used it for three months and couldn't take anymore of that crap (WinMo). I decided to go with Android because of Steve Jobs attitude and way of running the whole iOS with everything locked so damn tight. Also, attacking anything that would affect the "User Experience", which I believe is code for, racking up as much money as possible from his existing and possible new users and developers for Apples bottom line.
I'm glad I saw this in Apple and chose freedom.
