Love the forum

I've been here a week so I thought I would check in. I'm another old guy, 57, and got my first smart phone a week ago. The Optimus V was on sale at Target for $69 and I got a price match at Best Buy. Before that I had been using a Virgin Mobile Kyocera for about 5 years until the battery quit charging. Love the V and thanks to this forum it's rooted, ROM'ed and even better.

Only problem is now I'm hooked on smartphones and want bigger and better toys.

Welcome to the Android world and Android Forums. Even if you buy the very latest and greatest device, tomorrow it will be second shelf lol. Technology and the consumer desire is driving the industry to higher standards daily. It's a great thing but it's impossible to be at the top of the heap for any length of time. We just have to go on and enjoy what we have for what it is. I'm happy you decided to join AF and thanks for taking the time to drop in and say hello. Have fun.

Yeah, tell me about it. I've been using computers since the first Texas Instruments with a cassette tape for a hard drive. Now my cell phone is more powerful than the computers that went to the moon. Geesh ...
