Hi everyone,
I would like to get an Android handset for work, so its requirements deviate a bit from what's popularly advertised on the market. I was hoping that the interwebs out there could offer a little guidance. Here are the requirements/hopes:
1) [necessary] the bootloader be unlocked and root access be available
2) [would like] the battery life be very good -- 2 or 3 days on standby / 4 hours or so tethering
3) [would like] a hardware keyboard
Given these constraints, what's the lowest cost phone on the market available without a contract? The primary goal is to have a mobile platform for quick system administration, so I'd like to pair it with a data-only plan as cheaply as possible.
So what do you think?
