Help Low Phone memory on samsung galaxy fit

i am using samsung galaxy fit with 2.3 (gingerbread).....some applications are installed on phone memory and those i can not move to memory card...i had tried few applications like move to sd free and similar but can't move them to memory card....my phone memory is less than 160 mb and i can not install more apps on my phone. please tell me the solution to move the applications on phone to memory card.

I just checked and your phone comes with 160 MB of internal storage. I looked at my phones memory and it says I have 734 MB left. So you are really restricted out of the gate. On your phone go into settings > SD card and phone storage and scroll down to Internal phone storage and see what your space available is. It probably will not be very much as you say you can not install another app.

The problem is that most apps or a great meany of them will not install on the SD card. The only thing you can do is to uninstall them.

I was able to find this link which says you can store all your apps on the sd card. It requires a computer. Read it carefully before attempting the procedure.

Good luck.

my internal phone memory (after installing some applications) is less than 20 mb.......i had gone through your link and come to know that using sdk we can move apps from phone memory to memory card....but doing so phone performance will be slow.....what can be done here

You are going to get that message until you free up space above 20mb. I used to get that message all the time on my Nexus One at around 18MB. With the app2sd app make sure you clear your cache that usually helps a bit. The only other thing you can do without rooting is uninstall some of the apps on your phone.

On my phone I can go to settings > applications > storage use and see the apps listed from largest in megabytes to smallest. Perhaps you have a similar setting and can choose to uninstall the larger ones that you seldom use.

Yes rooting will void warranty.

How big is your SD card? I mean on my sister's phone, a Galaxy Fit as well, the market won't even ask us and default install all apps on the 8GB card I gave her, and not on phone memory. I actually had to move to phone memory a couple of apps because of the widgets that won't work if they are in the SD card. Her phone is running on stock Froyo, no root.

Moved the Phone to the Galaxy Fit section .
Gingerbread has default App2SD on unlike Froyo

The only solution for installing more apps even after using Native apps 2SD is rooting the Phone and using Dual partitioned SD cards .
Link2SD and Darktremors a2SD are two such methods .

Be careful while using either of the two methods and do research on rooting before diving in .

I've managed to move apps to SD card.

First root the phone using method described here:
http://androidforums.com/fit-all-things-root/399821-how-root-samsung-galaxy-fit-without-pc.html
and then install Gemini App Manager

It may help if you ensure that the USB Debugging is ticked which can be done by going to the Settings > Applications > Development > then tick both Allow mock locations as well as the USB Debugging options over there.

Hope it helps.

Hey..
You will have to root your phone first (its very simple and easily available at youtube !)
Then I would suggest you to install DroidSail Super App2SD app from the market.. and you are done !!
You can then move any app to your SD card !
