Low resolution in Gallery app

[marie_dk]

My employer has hired a company to code an app and I am currently testing this app.

When uploading a photo, the app opens the standard Gallery. The Gallery displays small thumbnails, which is okay, but when I choose an image for upload, the thumbnail is uploaded (140x185px), not the full resolution image.

If I open an image in Gallery and selects "Details" it tells me that the image is 480x640px... very weird. But that is simply not correct. When the phone is connected to my computer, and I open the same image, it is over 2000 px wide.

Why is Gallery giving me low resolution images?
By the way... no one else testing this app is having the same problem as me. Therefore I think there is a problem with my phone...

Update: I just installed the QuickPic image gallery, and the trouble is the same. When i pick an image for upload from the app I am testing, i only get a very small version of the photo. But at least when I open QuickPic and look at the details, it is giving me the correct with and height.

The developer has now confirmed that the Gallery issue exists with the app we are testing on Samsung Galaxy S2 updated to 4.1.2 and they are going to fix it so that the app takes this into account.
