Root LS660 Root/Recovery

1st. I like this phone and plan as it is. Id just like to be able to back it up just in case something happens.

2. It's way too late to take it back. I've had this phone for a while now.

3. Not sure what differences there'd be. I'm on zv5 and it's the Tribute.

4. When I got my Event (now bricked) from walmart, everything was the same.

5. So thanks but this doesn't help really :/

Have you tried to flash recovery via an updated version of rashr or an alternate flashing program like flashify?

And its not all walmart vm phones. Its just the data done right labled ones. But from my last visit to a few of their local stores ot appears they are switching to mostly data done right branded vm phones.

Maybe try Best Buys. I got two, Virgin Mobile USA, for $40 a piece! First one broke...physically! Both rooted on the first try using the LG Root Tool. No problems! If you go that route..also get a good case. The backside is so slick, they're easy to drop! (hence my need to buy a second!)

I've used the latest of flashify (doesn't seem to work unless I'm doing it wrong) and rashr (couldn't get root).

Tempered glass screen protectors on Amazon from MyBat $6.22 w/free s&h.

It is a life saver. My protector is now cracked in several places, plus crushed corners and sides from being in my pocket with keys (and dropped hundreds of times). Getting ready to buy another. My screen is in perfect shape, I would have had to buy another (couple) phone if not for it. FYI mine is from March, so a great piece of insurance.

I agree Hash_Brown! I learned that lesson the hard way. Got both fitted case and screen protectors from Amazon. Both are cheap insurance against my "fumble fingers!"

My friends Tribute that I rooted with Kingroot gave him a nag to update apparently. I'm going to visit him tomorrow and was wondering if there's a way to either eliminate a future nag or exchange the root method?

Does he have a recovery flash recovery first delete kingroot then flash su or u can flash a ROM with su already present with it get twrp before deleting kingroot

Thanks devilschild, I posted in the root no pc required thread long ago so all the stuff you guys helped me with and that I did is there. Sounds like maybe it's a straightforward thing if it's already been done on this phone to just flash su in twrp, thanks

Do I get rid of Kingroot IN twrp or do I uninstall it in Android with say ES? Do I need to do anything with Kingroot and any apps that have root through it beforehand?

As far as the update, just unchecked notifications in app manager for Google Play Services. That will remove the notification from nagging anymore.

still works. Got a new sealed phone that came with V3. Each update comes one at a time. I let it update to V4 and after that the next one was V5. Then I didn't install V6 and rooted and installed recovery.
