Help lte switch

I have 3023 and getting 1x no sign of 3g, I downloaded lte on/off switch and changed to evdo. When I do this I get 3g! but no data connection........ What can I do to get 3g or anything to improve my signal? I heard some stuff about build.prob but i have no idea ?

It's just like that in some places. I haven't been able to use 3g yet in Michigan but I can get the icon by switching to EVDO.
