Root LTE Toggle App from our ACS friends?

I know we have the ability to turn 4G on and off at will with any cut's LTE Functionality Test. I also know that when 4G is turned off and you have a phone call event 4G will turn on after the event is over.

Is there any way to have a toggle app with a rooted phone that will one touch toggle 4G on and off; and have it hold that even after a phone call event?

That would definitely be worth another donation from me... perhaps others too.

This is one of the things that I definitely want to include in the ROM. We have team members who can help, and I'm pinging them about it right now - we'll have something like this out as soon as possible.

That is awesome. Please keep us updated! God knows I'm rooting my phone in a heartbeat if you get this going.

The phone is only 2 months old. If you want it to happen why not try pushing over at SDX and XDA developers so more are involved.

Thanks for your hard work k0nane and everybody on the dev team. With all things being discussed, are you going to try and include the ability to talk and surf over 4g in the ROM that you're working on? Thanks again!

We're definitely going to look at it, but it may not be possible due to limitations in the current LTE chipsets. I don't know about the Indulge, but on the Thunderbolt, there's only a 4G baseband, with a full EVDO modem and voice controller/encoder/what have you. It, thus, can only do voice over EVDO/1X, not LTE. Other chipsets are similar. We will look at, however, letting you talk over 1X/EVDO, and surf over LTE. But no guarnatees!

I noticed that using the code Mike found, the phone runs a lot cooler on the backside and the battery life is a lot longer than using a toggle from any cut.

Is it possible to incorporate the "cdma only" into the rom and have it as a simple toggle instead of a restart? Or is it going to be a more permenant toggle but like any cut and still have the antenna getting power?

A simple toggle should be doable.

if someone is able to create a toggle switch for the samsung indulge then Im also willing to donate because when i use any cut yeah it cuts off y 4g but somehow i cant make calls anymore it force closes for some weird reason I dlike a switch where you switch it off its off you switch it on it stays on then so forth y'kno like the wifi switch

That would be as cool as this!: :D

Any word on the success of this yet? Force rebooting the phone to switch to 4G takes a good 3 minutes or so at this point, so I'm really hoping a toggle comes out.. I've pretty much had a 1x Indulge :)
