Lucky with water recovery

The GF made us late leaving for church yesterday and it was raining cats and dogs.

Getting out of the car and (trying to) transfer the F3 from the car's interior to my pocket I dropped it in a poodle (ha, ha, the old joke).

It was completely immersed for roughly five seconds.

I keep it in a cheap case (rubber sleeve and harder plastic surround) that doesn't cover the charge port, the microphone or the earphone jack.

I immediately powered it down, put it in my pocket and went into church. After church I took it out of the case, popped off the back cover, removed the battery, and put the battery and the phone in a plastic bag with a bag of dessicant and left it until this morning. After removing it from the bag this morning I examined the screen for signs of moisture; finding none I hit myriad areas of the phone with canned air to see if there was any moisture to be found. It all seemed okay, so I tossed in the battery, snapped on the back and powered it up.

All seems fine. I'm glad I dodged a bullet. Had I not, though, I don't think I'd be replacing it with an F3. I'm not entirely sure I'd be replacing it with an LG.

Hope everyone had a safe and uneventful weekend. For those in the northeastern US, boy, do you have my sympathy. The rains we got were nothing compared to the last several weeks you folks have endured.
