Root M2BUPB0 Recovery/Update Zip Needed

Hello, I was wondering if anyone had a stock m2bupb0 recovery/update zip I could get from them?

I have an Metro PCS Alcatel One Touch Fierce, but unfortunately failed to make a backup before tinkering... I am a noob to this flashing concept so if any one has some advise or instructions, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx for any assistance in this matter...

Yes I can boot into recovery and have with no luck... I have no access to a computer at the moment and I have never used adb before...

There is no recovery. No zip you can flash, or downloadable oem software that will flash stock firmware. I have not seen anything anywhere that would suggest we are able to fallback on anything that can fix our phone if we mess with the wrong thing.

So why do we do a backup when we first root our phones? I thought that was the whole reason for doing a backup, was so we could restore our phones if we bricked them.

In general the process goes,

1st - Root the device
2nd - Install custom recovery (CWM/TWRP)
3rd- Make backup with CWM/TWRP

We have no way to do the 2nd step, so there's no way to make a true backup. At least as far as I've been able to tell.

I was Thinking more like...

1. Root Phone.
2. Backup Phone.
3. Tinker with Phone till you brick it...lol.
4. Reinstall Backup, "because you bricked it".
5. Repeat steps 1 through 4.

P.S. So like if someone did a system data backup with Titanium, they could not create a zip so I could reinstall my system?

P.P.S. I am new to this rooting and flashing thing, so please don't be to hard on me. Just trying to learn!

As far as I know titanium backup is not going to pull anything from a mount point.(emmc@system /system). Although I believe it can create update scripts, I doubt it'll be your full system and I'm not sure you could flash it without further damaging your phone. But I am not fully familiar with the app so someone chime in if I'm wrong.

DNRDustin,

Thanks for all your help. I appreciate all your effort in this matter. Like I said I am new to all this root stuff, but I must say I enjoy the more control I have over my device.

Thanks again...

No problem. Honestly though, this is probably one of the worst phones to learn about rooting and it's potential. Next time do a little research. If you can verify that there is a custom recovery for a phone you're interested in, then you know you can at least fix what you broke. That being said, the Fierce has some good specs and I'm sure "eventually" we'll have s-off/unlocked bootloader.

There is no recovery as of yet for this device. Cant flash anything.....

Um, we have a recovery just not a custom one. In fact the last time I installed SuperSu was in recovery... well actually the script ran before recovery had 'loaded' and asked what language I wanted to use.

There honestly probably won't be a recovery. This phone is very unloved by devs and because of that fact me and a few others were looking into recovery. When we pulled recovery files from the phone we couldn't find anything, all the files were empty, we did so 3-4 times and every time it came up empty. We're pretty sure the phone has an auto-wipe script somewhere in those files so that when they are pulled the get "0'd" out.

Has anyone tried the titanium backup Update.Zip method? im very desperate to get this phone back. i went to metro. told them i woke up to this mess and they told me battery drain it. i highly believe thats not gonna do anything as i added the 4.2 google camera apk straight to the system.

btw why is there a cache/recovery folder in the stock recovery if theres no actual recovery? it wouldve been nice to add a zip file in there wouldnt have? smh at alcatel

Also, dude, it's really easy to pull the frame apart for battery removal. just remove all screws from back panel, then run your finger nail where the case meets the screen.
