M8 no homescreen

hello, could any body give me some idea how to fix my m8 box,,,,, on start up the only thing that comes up is a golden spinning globe , I've tried to reset the box by sticking a toothpick in the back of the box to reset but it still only reboots to this page , any help on what to do would be appreciated ,thanks

Yes it's worked fine before ,I've bought it from a friend to use on another TV,he's fiddled about with it trying to get it to stop buffering so I'm presuming he's been into settings and altered something . I thought it would of just been a case of reloading kodi but there's no android start up screen just a golden globe revolving ,thanks

Does the device still work on your friend's equipment?

He's fiddled with the settings specific to his media environment and those, apparently, are conflicting with yours.

If the device still works at your friend's house then reset the device there and try it again before he gets a chance to tinker with it.

The device is almost certainly bricked.

It would be too expensive to fix... even if you can find someone willing to take the time to try.
If you can't reset the device and you can't even get to the reset options, then it's time to give up on it.

One final thing... are you using the same power supply that came with the device?
If you are then I'm out of ideas.

Get a new one. They are as cheap as chips...

Hello , I'm using the proper power supply, I've tried today to do a factory reset with the toothpick in the back , I've picked the one , factory reset / wipe data, after this it still comes up with the round flashing globe , I'm still learning about these boxes but is it possible it needs firmware re installing of a sd card ?

Well, I think you are crazy to waste your time and effort on this when you could get your friend to return the device for a replacement, but here goes...
