i know it is the M8 forum, but gotta ask.

I have been an HTC One and Note 3 user (one for work one for personal), since release dates.

absolutely love my M7 and love the pen on the Note 3.

tome for upgrade. M8 or S5. camera on the M8 is really concerning and like the idea of weather seal.

what do you guys think...

thanks

Personally I would wait until there are some real world reviews.

I jumped the gun and went for the M8 as camera is not paramount for me. Yes the water resistance and finger print scanner look great. My last phone was the S3 which I loved but I went with my heart and got the beautiful M8.

Xperia X2

Seems to be a better all rounder, just put off by the 16GB storage and waiting to see how the battery life compares.

Other issue I see with m8 is that as beautiful as it is, it is so slippery definitely will need a case. And If put in a case and cover the beautiful design, what's the purpose.

S5 also feels much lighter.

The M8 is a bit slippery. I'll be putting a case on it for sure.

They have clear cases that showcase the back of the phone. :)

the m8 is a lovely piece of kit imo - very fast too compared to my old s3 :D
...im having a few new phone teething troubles, but hopefully they will get sorted soon
cheers

If I didn't work construction, I'd probably keep it caseless. It is slippery, just have to pay attention.
You've got to hold on loosely, but don't let go. If you cling too tightly you're bound to loose control.

Ok, just kidding there, I couldn't resist! :p

Gave the S5 a try. Did not like:

Finger print scanner is hit and miss (mainly miss one handed and in a case)
Build quality nowhere close to M8
Don't like physical buttons
Screen blue tint still there
Speaker does not compare to M8

Those are important to me, may be not to many.

I got the M8. Absolutely love it. Yes camera could be a little higher res. It could be weather proof. But besides that, great phone...

Just my 2c.
